RE: Philadelphia Phillies Testimonial
December, 2008
I am the Director of Advertising Sales and the “Red Goes Green” Project Manager for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 2008 The Phillies implemented a broad-based “Green” environmental program including the purchase of Renewable Energy Certificates (green energy) to cover all of our energy usage for the entire year at Citizens Bank Park.
Mark McSherry and I came to know each other through his professional sports survey project in May, 2008. As we were learning our own early lessons about this important subject the survey demonstrated Mark’s knowledge of the business and green issues that we are facing. I was impressed that Mark came up with the idea of surveying professional sports teams on their green practices and that he was willing to share his insights. The survey participation was impressive and the results were very interesting.
We were interested in learning more about our fans’ environmental preferences and Mark’s sustainability experience and survey expertise was a natural fit. I found Mark to be reliable and easy to work with, and he always responded promptly with thoughtful insight. In fact, there were many instances when Mark would forward information or articles that he found pertinent to a conversation we had previously. It was in those times that I realized that Mark really listened and cared about the issues important to our goals.
Mark was also willing to help The Phillies with our own “green survey” this November. In doing so, he provided useful feedback on our current green program and offered insightful ideas on how to improve our overall green business strategy.
I can offer my full recommendation for Mark McSherry. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Mark again should the opportunity arise.
Sincerely,
Brian Mahoney
